Lake Tahoe Real Estate- Hiking Mount Tallac A Tahoe Must

Hiking View of Lake Tahoe
Mount Tallac is fun any season but it’s hard to compare anything to a morning ski or hike up it in the winter. The route up is no easy task the ascent is over 3,000 feet and there are no shortcuts, lift service or electronic devises to speed you to the top. I advise the route that takes the direct approach from the base to the shoulder to ridge and summit. Spring creek is close to an accessible shoulder that winds up past Tallac’s northern bowl and eventually gains the ridge. A panoramic view unfolds of wild peaks cloaked under frozen water surrounding a blue lake.
North Lake Tahoe Real Estate- Full Moon Ski A Tahoe Must Try

Tahoe Sunset
There are many places where you can take a full moon beach ski in Tahoe such as Tahoe Meadows, Camp Richardson, Hope Valley Outdoor Center, and Resort at Squaw Creek, Kirkwood, and Northstar. There is nothing like seeing the flat stretch of snow covered field glittering under the moons glow. You feel like an original pioneer as if you and your party are the first to discover this beautiful area. Off at the distance you can see the moon reflecting on the black-blue lake and the hint of the white waves only at the edges of the crystalline shores. If you are going to take a full moon beach ski you are advised to bring a cooler of a hot drink, poles for propelling yourself along and a flashlight.
North Lake Tahoe Real Estate- The Great Race A Winter Must See

The Great Race
The first Sunday of March near Tahoe city 1,000 cross country skate skiers partake in an 18-mile Great Ski Race the largest organized cross-country ski competition on the west coast. Thousands of volunteers help every year since all the proceeds go to the Tahoe Nordic Search and Rescue Team a group of volunteers who track down lost skiers and other who need help. The first of the three courses is the Hill Climb a seven mile uphill track that is an extremely difficult task to undertake even for professional skate skiers. The second is the Starratt Pass where you will see themed costumes on the official costumed cheerleading squad cheering the racers on as they pass. After the Starratt Pass there is a soup station for hungry and tired skate skiers to stop and take a break from the arduous course. The last course is the Cottonwood Finish a beautiful backcountry course that leads to al the festivities at the finish party which includes a hot lunch, live music, dancing, prizes and award ceremonies.
